Our Team
We are teachers, engineers and sports fans committed to building learning experiences that are accessible and rooted in student interests.
At LitZone, we believe that reading is life's most important skill, and like any skill, the only way to improve is through daily practice.
As a kid, sports gave me something fun and new to read about every day. As a teacher, sports offered a natural way for me to connect with my students. Our goal at LitZone is to cultivate experiences like this in every classroom.- James Kelly, Teacher & CEO

Our Values
Family-Focused
Many sports websites feature mature themes and inappropriate controversies that happen off-the-field. At LitZone, our content is carefully designed with young audiences in mind
Student Engagement
People learn best when they’re studying something they’re truly passionate about. Our goal is to create learning experiences that are engaging, relevant and rooted in student interests
Accessibility
Every student deserves the opportunity to learn at their own level and pace. We provide educational resources that meet students where they are so that they can read with confidence
LitZone at a glance
LitZone is a fantasy league inspired learning game for kids that turns their love of sports into reading and math practice.
- Who it is for
- Kids ages 8-13, which is grades 3-8. A parent or teacher creates the account.
- Sports
- Football (NFL), basketball (NBA), and baseball (MLB), each as its own league with its own team and standings. Baseball games follow the MLB season, which returns in spring.
- What kids do
- Draft real players for a fantasy team, read sports news, and practice math and reading. Reading and math tasks earn the points and boosts that help their team in weekly matchups.
- Platforms
- iPhone and iPad (App Store), Android (Google Play), and any web browser. Progress syncs across devices.
- Price
- Fantasy play is free: creating a team, drafting real players, and running weekly matchups costs nothing. The reading and math plans are the paid layer, each with a 7-day free trial. Solo plans: All Sports Monthly $13.99/mo, All Sports Yearly $74.99/yr, or Season Pass $44.99/yr. Family plans are available on the web. Teacher accounts are free.
- Safety
- Ad-free, with no chat, direct messaging, voice chat, or comment sections. Players appear to each other by username.
- Independence
- LitZone is an independent editorial platform, not an official partner of professional sports leagues.
