Bijan Robinson Powers Falcons to a Lambeau Field Breakthrough

The Atlanta Falcons came to Lambeau Field at 0-2, needing a spark. Bijan Robinson gave them a wildfire instead. The star running back tore through Green Bay for 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns as Atlanta turned an early mistake into a 35-14 Thursday night win over the Packers.

Green Bay, 1-1 entering the game, hoped to build on its close win over the Jets and protect home field. The Falcons wanted to erase the memory of their 34-3 loss to Carolina. At first, it looked as if the Packers had the upper hand when safety McKinney intercepted Michael Penix Jr. on Atlanta’s opening drive.

But Green Bay could not turn that gift into points. Then Jordan Love found Christian Watson for a 4-yard touchdown, finishing a sharp drive that included a 45-yard strike to Matthew Golden. The Packers led 7-0 with 5:13 left in the first quarter.

Robinson answered almost immediately. He burst around the left side for 55 yards, racing all the way to Green Bay’s 5-yard line. Two plays later, he powered in from 3 yards out to tie the score, 7-7. That run changed the game’s rhythm. Atlanta’s offensive line began opening lanes, and Green Bay’s defense had to chase Robinson all over the field.

The Falcons took control in the second quarter. Nick Folk’s 44-yard field goal put Atlanta ahead 10-7. Then, after Green Bay had a field-goal try blocked, Penix calmly marched the Falcons downfield before halftime. Drake London made key catches, including a 16-yard grab to reach the Green Bay 18. Penix then found Austin Hooper for a 5-yard touchdown with 59 seconds left, giving Atlanta a 17-7 halftime lead.

Green Bay tried to storm back after the break. Love hit Watson for 22 yards and moved the Packers inside the Atlanta 10, but the drive stopped without points. Atlanta made that missed chance hurt. Robinson ripped off a 31-yard run, London caught a 16-yard pass, and Brian Robinson Jr. finished the drive with a 7-yard touchdown. The Falcons suddenly led 24-7.

Atlanta never let the Packers breathe. Early in the fourth quarter, London exploded for a 68-yard catch, then added a 16-yard reception to help set up Folk’s field goal. Green Bay finally answered when Love found Golden for a 15-yard touchdown, cutting the score to 27-14 with 8:18 left.

But Robinson delivered the final roar. London caught a 40-yard pass to the Green Bay 13, and Robinson finished the drive with a 2-yard touchdown. Penix added a two-point pass, making it 35-14. Safety Watts ended Green Bay’s last push with an interception near the goal line.

London’s nine catches for 194 yards gave Penix a powerful partner, while Atlanta piled up 242 rushing yards and held the ball for 37:05. The win sends the Falcons to 1-2 and gives new coach Kevin Stefanski a major early-season building block before a game against the Saints. Green Bay falls to 1-2 and heads toward Tampa Bay needing to rebuild its rushing attack after gaining only 17 yards on the ground. For Atlanta, Robinson’s huge night showed what can happen when its talented offense finally runs at full speed.
