Josh Allen kept finding open grass when the Buffalo Bills needed it most. His final burst set up Tyler Bass’ winning kick in overtime as Buffalo beat the Los Angeles Rams 37–34 at SoFi Stadium. The Bills arrived at 3–1 hoping their powerful offense could fuel another deep playoff chase. The Rams, 2–2 and coming off a big win over Philadelphia, nearly answered every challenge before a wild finish slipped away.

Buffalo struck first, but the Rams defense made the Bills settle for two Bass field goals and a 6–0 lead. Then Matthew Stafford began working his passing game like a puzzle solver. Puka Nacua caught short throws and moved the chains, while the Rams mixed in runs by Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. The march ended when Stafford found Davante Adams for a 4-yard touchdown, putting Los Angeles ahead 7–6.

Allen answered with a flash of Buffalo’s speed. He hit Ty Johnson for a 40-yard gain, then James Cook raced 17 yards for a touchdown. Buffalo led 13–7, but the Rams got a huge lift before halftime when a Rams cornerback intercepted Allen’s deep pass. Los Angeles could not turn that takeaway into points, though, leaving the Bills in front at the break.

The Rams seized control early in the second half. Stafford guided a long opening drive, and Corum powered in from 1 yard to make it 14–13. Buffalo answered later with a tense drive full of penalties and pressure. Allen finally found Keon Coleman for a 7-yard touchdown, though Bass missed the extra point and the Bills led only 19–14.

Stafford and Nacua quickly turned the game again. A 34-yard catch by Corum and an 11-yard Nacua grab put the Rams near the goal line. Nacua caught the 2-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter, but the two-point try failed, leaving Los Angeles up 20–19.

That was when Allen became the game’s great escape artist. He ripped off runs of 22 yards and 21 yards, finishing with 121 rushing yards. After a 31-yard pass to Ray Davis, Allen scored from 1 yard and threw the two-point pass to Dalton Kincaid for a 27–20 lead.

Still, Stafford would not blink. He threw a 30-yard pass to Tyler Higbee, then Adams caught his second touchdown to tie it 27–27. Cook later finished a long Buffalo drive with a 5-yard score, but Stafford led a lightning-fast final march. With five seconds left, Williams scored from 1 yard to force overtime at 34–34.

Overtime brought one more twist. Cook fumbled after Khalil Shakir’s 57-yard catch, but Buffalo’s defense blocked a Rams field-goal try. Allen then ran twice to move Buffalo into range, and Bass drilled the 45-yard winner.

The Bills are 4–1 heading toward the Las Vegas Raiders, with Allen and Cook showing they can win even in a track meet. The Rams fall to 2–3 before facing the Arizona Cardinals, but Stafford’s 383-yard, three-touchdown night showed their offense can battle anyone.
