The Packers needed an answer after their close loss in Detroit, and Jordan Love delivered one under the Thursday night lights. Green Bay entered at 4-3 trying to stay in the NFC North race, while the 3-3 Panthers hoped to bounce back and prove they could challenge strong teams. The result was a 27-19 Packers win built on Love’s three touchdown passes, a fierce six-sack defensive effort, and enough late poise to protect Lambeau Field.

Carolina started with a surprise. Panthers linebacker Hampton recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff at the Green Bay 29, giving Bryce Young a short field. Green Bay’s defense bent but did not break, forcing a 39-yard field goal for a 3-0 Carolina lead. Love answered by guiding the Packers downfield. Christian Watson made a 24-yard catch, and tight end Tucker Kraft caught a 12-yard touchdown pass. The extra point hit the upright, so Green Bay led only 6-3.

Young and Chuba Hubbard then pushed Carolina back in front. Hubbard ran hard throughout the night, finishing with 81 rushing yards and 38 receiving yards. He powered a long drive that crossed into the second quarter and finished it with a one-yard touchdown run. Carolina led 10-6, but its advantage did not last.

Watson became Love’s spark. After he lost a fumble near midfield, Watson came back with a soaring 53-yard catch that flipped the field. Savion Williams added an 18-yard run, and Josh Jacobs powered in from one yard out for a 13-10 Packers lead. Then linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper stepped in front of a Young pass for an interception, handing Love another chance. Love turned it into a 24-yard touchdown throw to Matthew Golden with 1:46 left before halftime. Green Bay carried a 20-10 lead into the break.

The Packers took even firmer control after halftime. Love spread the ball around on a smooth drive, and Jacobs finished it by catching a four-yard touchdown pass. That 27-10 lead mattered because Carolina had to chase the game against a pass rush that kept closing in. Devonte Wyatt, Lukas Van Ness, Hopper, Barryn Sorrell, Brenton Cox Jr., and Dani Dennis-Sutton each recorded a sack.

Carolina kept fighting. Hubbard broke free for an 18-yard run, and Ryan Fitzgerald drilled a 50-yard field goal to make it 27-13. In the fourth quarter, Young moved the Panthers downfield with throws to Tetairoa McMillan and Hubbard before finding Jalen Coker for a 26-yard touchdown. The two-point try failed, leaving Green Bay ahead 27-19 with 5:37 left.

A Panthers safety intercepted Love near the goal line, but Carolina could not turn the chance into more points. After Green Bay got the ball back late, Love found Watson for seven yards on a key third down, helping the Packers drain the clock. On the final play, Coker fumbled after a lateral, and a Packers defensive end recovered it.

Green Bay is now 5-3 and heads to face New England with a needed home win. Carolina falls to 3-4 before meeting Denver, carrying proof that its fight never faded but that every lost chance matters in a tight season.
