The Packers had waited since last season’s playoff loss to Chicago for another shot at the Bears. On Sunday in Green Bay, Christian Watson made that chance count. The speedy receiver caught two huge touchdown passes from Jordan Love, and the Packers turned a division showdown into a 31-7 statement win.

Green Bay entered at 2-2, trying to stop an uneven start and chase the NFC North crown. Chicago arrived 3-1 as the defending division champion, hoping to show last year’s success was still growing. Instead, the Packers’ defense kept taking the ball away, while Love kept finding Watson downfield.

The Bears began with Tyson Bagent at quarterback and moved the ball early when D’Andre Swift caught a 13-yard pass. But defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt crashed in for an 11-yard sack, forcing a punt. Love then led a patient drive from his own 9-yard line. MarShawn Lloyd ran for 10 yards, Tucker Kraft powered ahead on a direct snap, and Watson made a short catch near midfield.

Then came the first lightning bolt. Love launched a deep pass to Watson, who raced 42 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 Packers lead. On Chicago’s next drive, safety Xavier McKinney intercepted a deep throw, giving Green Bay the ball in Bears territory. The Packers did not waste it. Lloyd finished the drive with a 7-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, making it 14-0.

Chicago answered with its best drive of the day. Swift burst for runs of 10, nine, and 12 yards, helping push the Bears to the goal line. After Bagent scrambled to the 1, Swift powered in for the touchdown. The score was 14-7, and the Bears had brought life back into the game.

But Green Bay grabbed control again after halftime. Love hit Watson for 31 yards on the opening drive, then fired another deep throw his way. Watson hauled it in for a 53-yard touchdown. The extra point missed, but the Packers led 20-7. Watson finished with six catches for 143 yards, showing why his speed can change a game in one snap.

Chicago had a chance to answer, but Cairo Santos missed a 43-yard field goal. That miss mattered because Green Bay soon stretched the lead with a 35-yard field goal. Late in the third quarter, McKinney grabbed his second interception, stopping another Bears drive. Love answered immediately with a 36-yard strike to Matthew Golden, setting up Lloyd’s second rushing touchdown. Love then found Golden for the two-point pass and a 31-7 lead.

The Bears tried to rally with Case Keenum at quarterback, but linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper intercepted a goal-line pass. Later, safety Williams recovered an Odunze fumble, and defensive tackle Wyatt forced a fumble on a sack. Green Bay finished with five takeaways and no turnovers, the clearest reason the game became a runaway.

Love passed for 367 yards and two touchdowns, while Golden added 123 receiving yards. The 3-2 Packers now carry a powerful answer into their next game against Dallas: their big-play offense and defense can work together. Chicago, also 3-2, heads to Atlanta needing to protect the football as it continues its division-title defense.
