Cowboys Roll Past Raiders 33-16 as Prescott Throws Four Touchdowns
The Dallas Cowboys desperately needed a bounce-back win after falling to 3-5-1, and they got exactly that with a commanding 33-16 victory over the struggling Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders entered the game at 2-7 and searching for answers on both sides of the ball.
First Quarter: Defense Creates Early Opportunities
Both teams started slowly, trading field goals in a defensive battle. The Cowboys struck first when kicker Aubrey connected from 50 yards out after a promising drive stalled in the red zone. The Raiders answered right back with a 35-yard field goal from Carlson following a crucial fumble recovery. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott lost the ball when pass rusher Crosby knocked it loose, giving Las Vegas excellent field position.
The Raiders capitalized again late in the quarter with another field goal, this time from 45 yards out. Despite the early struggles, Cowboys receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens began finding their rhythm, with Pickens hauling in two catches for 31 yards to close the quarter. After 15 minutes, Las Vegas held a surprising 6-3 lead.
Second Quarter: Cowboys Offense Explodes
Prescott and the Cowboys offense came alive in spectacular fashion during the second quarter. The veteran quarterback found his favorite target, CeeDee Lamb, for an 18-yard touchdown pass to cap off a beautiful drive. Prescott's accuracy was on full display as he completed passes to multiple receivers.
The Cowboys weren't finished. After a Las Vegas interception by a Cowboys safety gave Dallas excellent field position, Prescott connected with tight end Jake Ferguson for a 5-yard touchdown pass. The chemistry between Prescott and his receivers was clicking perfectly.
Just before halftime, Prescott delivered a dagger with a 37-yard touchdown bomb to George Pickens, showcasing the big-play ability that made Pickens such a valuable addition to Dallas. The Cowboys took a commanding 24-9 lead into the locker room.
Third Quarter: Cowboys Continue Rolling
Dallas kept their foot on the gas pedal in the third quarter. Running back Javonte Williams provided steady ground support, while Prescott continued picking apart the Raiders defense. The Cowboys capped off another impressive drive when Prescott found receiver Ryan Flournoy for a 2-yard touchdown pass.
Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty struggled to find running room against a stout Cowboys defense, managing just 7 rushing yards on 6 carries. Quarterback Geno Smith tried to keep pace through the air, connecting with tight end Brock Bowers for 72 receiving yards, but the Raiders couldn't find the end zone.
Fourth Quarter: Raiders Fight Back, But Too Little Too Late
Las Vegas finally reached the end zone when Smith found Tre Tucker for a 6-yard touchdown pass, giving the home crowd something to cheer about. However, the celebration was short-lived as the Cowboys forced a safety when the Raiders were backed up in their own end zone.
Prescott finished with an outstanding performance, throwing for 268 yards and four touchdowns on 25-of-33 passing. Williams provided the ground game with 93 rushing yards on 22 carries. For the Raiders, Smith threw for 238 yards but was sacked four times and threw one costly interception.
Looking Ahead
This crucial victory improves Dallas to 4-5-1, keeping their playoff hopes alive in a competitive NFC. The Cowboys showed the offensive firepower that makes them dangerous when everything clicks. Meanwhile, Las Vegas falls to 2-8, extending their losing streak to four games as they continue building for the future under their coaching staff.
Both teams will look to build momentum as they prepare for their next challenges in what remains a pivotal stretch of the season.
