Bhayshul Tuten turned one opening into a 39-yard sprint, and the Jacksonville Jaguars turned that burst into a loud answer for the AFC South. Jacksonville entered Sunday at 4-2, trying to stay near the division lead after its close loss to Houston. The Indianapolis Colts arrived at 2-5, hoping Jonathan Taylor could stop a three-game skid. Instead, Tuten and the Jaguars’ alert defense powered a 42-7 win at EverBank Stadium.

Taylor gave Indianapolis an early flash, slicing around the right side for 19 yards on the first drive. But the Jaguars stopped the Colts near midfield and pinned Trevor Lawrence’s offense at its own 2-yard line. Jacksonville calmly traveled the whole field from there. Brenton Strange’s 46-yard catch flipped the field, and Tuten kept driving the pile near the goal line. Lawrence finished the march with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Jr. for a 7-0 lead.

The Colts could not find the same rhythm. Travon Walker sacked Daniel Jones on Indianapolis’ next possession, and Jacksonville soon had another chance. A fumble by Taylor near midfield gave the Jaguars the ball, changing a promising Colts drive into a Jacksonville opportunity. Lawrence quickly struck tight end Nate Boerkircher for a 31-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead.

Then Tuten delivered the play that broke the game open. With less than two minutes left in the first half, he burst through the right side and raced 39 yards for a touchdown. He finished with 104 rushing yards and also caught two passes for 55 yards, showing why Jacksonville’s offense was so difficult to slow down.

Indianapolis did create one late chance before halftime after defensive end Tuimoloau forced Lawrence to fumble. But safety Lane grabbed Jones’ pass near the goal line and raced 92 yards for a touchdown. Instead of cutting into the lead, the Colts suddenly trailed 28-0. That interception return was the game’s biggest swing, because it showed Jacksonville’s defense could turn pressure into points.

The Jaguars kept rolling after halftime. Running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. broke free for a 28-yard touchdown, and Lawrence later found Tuten on a 25-yard touchdown pass as the third quarter ended. Lawrence completed 14 passes for 210 yards and three scores, guiding an attack that rushed for 183 yards and passed for 183 more.

Jones finally found Josh Downs for a 6-yard touchdown in the third quarter, but the Colts could not build on it. Jones threw two interceptions, while Taylor was held to 23 rushing yards on eight carries. Indianapolis reached the red zone, the area near the goal line, twice but scored only once.

At 5-2, Jacksonville heads to Baltimore with a powerful reminder that its division-title chase has many weapons. The Colts, now 2-6, move on to Dallas needing to turn early promise into complete drives and cleaner finishes. On Sunday, Tuten’s run and Jacksonville’s defense made sure this AFC South chapter belonged to the Jaguars.
