Parker Washington’s 50-yard touchdown catch landed like a lightning bolt just before halftime, sending Jacksonville toward a 33-10 Thursday night win over Baltimore. The Jaguars arrived at M&T Bank Stadium at 5-2, trying to protect their strong start. The Ravens, 4-4 and seeking to end a three-game slide, needed Derrick Henry’s powerful runs to carry an offense led by Joe Fagnano.
Jacksonville showed its speed immediately. Trevor Lawrence opened the game with a 52-yard throw to tight end Nate Boerkircher, putting the Jaguars deep in Ravens territory. Bhayshul Tuten finished the march with a 1-yard touchdown run, and Jacksonville led 7-0. Baltimore answered with a long, ground-based drive. Henry and Zay Flowers kept the chains moving, but the Jaguars stopped the Ravens outside the end zone. Jake Moody’s 53-yard field goal made it 7-3.
Lawrence then kept finding open targets. Jakobi Meyers caught passes of 17 and 11 yards on Jacksonville’s next two scoring drives, while Tuten helped push the Jaguars into range for Cam Little’s 36-yard field goal. Baltimore’s defense was bending, but it still had chances to keep the game close.
The Ravens began a long second-quarter possession and used direct snaps, which send the ball straight to a runner instead of the quarterback, to feature Henry. Yet penalties and a sack by linebacker Oluokun stalled the drive. Baltimore’s punter pinned Jacksonville at its own 3-yard line, but Lawrence calmly led the Jaguars out of danger. Brenton Strange caught a 15-yard pass, and with 58 seconds left, Washington raced behind the defense for the 50-yard score. Jacksonville suddenly held a 17-3 halftime lead.
Baltimore needed a fast second-half answer. Instead, Fagnano’s pass toward Flowers was intercepted by cornerback Brown at the Baltimore 32. Little’s 45-yard field goal stretched Jacksonville’s lead to 20-3. The Ravens later recovered a fumble by Travis Hunter near midfield, but their opportunity slipped away during a messy series with fumbles by Fagnano and Mark Andrews. Jacksonville took control again and added Little’s 47-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter.
Cornerback Lewis then intercepted another Fagnano pass, and Little made a 33-yard kick for a 26-3 lead. A replay also gave Jacksonville a fumble recovery on the following kickoff. The Jaguars turned that extra possession into a long, hard-running drive, capped by Chris Rodriguez Jr.’s 2-yard touchdown.
Justice Hill gave Baltimore one bright flash with a 65-yard touchdown run, but it came with 7:15 left and could not change the game’s direction. Jacksonville’s defense held Fagnano to 60 passing yards and forced two interceptions, while Lawrence threw for 242 yards without an interception.
The Jaguars improved to 6-2 and head next to Tennessee with another complete road win. Baltimore fell to 4-5 and will try to regroup against the Los Angeles Chargers. For Jacksonville, Washington’s deep strike was the night’s clear message: when the Jaguars find an opening, they can turn it into a game-changing burst.
