Kenneth Walker III came back to Lumen Field wearing Kansas City red, hoping to help the 5-0 Chiefs stay perfect. Instead, Seattle’s defense turned his return into a long, tough night. The defending champions snapped a two-game slide with a 20-3 victory, holding Walker to 36 rushing yards and giving Kansas City its first loss.

The opening quarter was a field-position fight. Walker caught an early pass and ran hard between the tackles, but Seattle kept closing the gaps. Kansas City reached Seahawks territory twice, yet had to punt both times. Seattle began to build its own answer with short runs and quick throws from Sam Darnold.

Early in the second quarter, Darnold found Jaxon Smith-Njigba for 33 yards down the middle, setting up Jason Myers’ 25-yard field goal and a 3-0 lead. The next big moment came when safety Okada intercepted Patrick Mahomes near midfield. Seattle did not waste the extra chance. Darnold guided the offense back downfield, then launched a deep pass to Smith-Njigba near the goal line. Replay showed Smith-Njigba stayed in bounds for a 28-yard touchdown, and Seattle led 10-0 with 1:44 left before halftime.

Kansas City had one last chance to cut into the lead, but a 58-yard field-goal try fell short. Seattle had controlled the ball, moved the chains on third down, and made Mahomes work for every yard.

The Seahawks kept pressing after halftime. Darnold scrambled for 10 yards, tight end AJ Barner caught a 19-yard pass, and Seattle drove deep into Kansas City territory. The Chiefs stopped the touchdown push, but Myers made a 35-yard field goal for a 13-0 lead.

Mahomes finally got Kansas City on the board late in the third quarter. He connected with Travis Kelce and Noah Gray on key gains before linebacker Hall forced a fumble on a sack. Mahomes recovered it, and Harrison Butker hit from 50 yards to make it 13-3. That was as close as the Chiefs would get.

Kansas City drove into Seattle territory early in the fourth, but Butker missed wide right from 45 yards. Seattle answered with its most important drive. Smith-Njigba made another catch to cross midfield, then Emanuel Wilson kept pounding forward. Wilson finished the march by bursting 21 yards for a touchdown with 3:47 left, making it 20-3.

Smith-Njigba led Seattle with nine catches for 150 yards and a touchdown, while Wilson’s 100 rushing yards gave the offense the balance it needed. Darnold threw for 257 yards as Seattle held the ball for 35:51 and converted 11 of 16 third downs. For Kansas City, Mahomes threw for 165 yards with an interception, and the Chiefs managed only 50 rushing yards.

Seattle is now 4-3 and heads to face the Chicago Bears with its championship-style defense roaring again. Kansas City falls to 5-1 and will try to reset against the Denver Broncos. Walker’s return brought the spotlight, but Seattle’s complete team effort owned the final chapter.
