Yaxel Lendeborg turned Golden State’s Sunday night into a rookie spotlight, pouring in 37 points as the Warriors erased a rough start and beat the LA Clippers 124-112. Golden State entered at 3-3, trying to build on recent strong play. The Clippers arrived at 1-4, eager to stop a three-game slide. For one quarter, Los Angeles looked ready to do exactly that. Then Lendeborg’s shooting and all-around hustle changed the whole game.

The Clippers jumped ahead 14-9 behind Rui Hachimura, who scored from the lane and knocked down a three-pointer. Kris Dunn’s quick hands also bothered Golden State early. Los Angeles finished with 11 steals, and Dunn grabbed seven by himself. Kobe Sanders added two three-pointers during a late first-quarter burst, while Brook Lopez drilled a long shot. The Clippers led 37-29 after one, with Hachimura setting the tone on his way to 24 points.

Golden State did not panic. Guard Brandon Williams scored nine points in the second quarter, including a three-pointer and a fast layup that pulled the Warriors within one at 37-36. Lendeborg then took over. He scored inside to give Golden State its first lead, 40-39, and later hit two deep shots before halftime. His 26-foot three-pointer with 8.5 seconds left sent the Warriors into the break ahead 63-57.

That six-point lead soon became a mountain. Brandin Podziemski opened the third quarter with a three-pointer, and Lendeborg kept making smart, strong plays. He finished an alley-oop layup, attacked for another layup, and buried a step-back jumper. De’Anthony Melton followed with a three-pointer as the Warriors raced ahead 75-63. Every Clippers mistake gave Golden State another chance to run, pass, and fire from deep.

Los Angeles fought back briefly when Dunn and Sanders made plays in the final minutes of the third. The Clippers cut the gap to eight, but Podziemski answered with a step-back three. Golden State carried a 92-85 lead into the fourth.

The Warriors slammed the door with teamwork. Podziemski drove for a layup, Al Horford hit a three, and Will Richard added another from long range for a 100-89 lead. Lendeborg then struck again, drilling a running three and two free throws before adding a step-back three for a 111-92 cushion. He made 13 of 19 shots, including six three-pointers, while adding six assists. His scoring was not just loud; it opened room for teammates all night.

Melton finished with 21 points and six three-pointers, while Podziemski supplied 17 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Golden State made 22 three-pointers and handed out 32 assists, showing how a moving ball can wear down a defense.

The Warriors improved to 4-3 and next face the Phoenix Suns with a young forward proving he can shine beside the team’s veterans. The Clippers fell to 1-5 and will visit the Toronto Raptors, still searching for the steady stretches that can turn effort into wins.
