Matthew Stafford Wins NFL MVP After Amazing Season

Matthew Stafford had one of the best seasons of his career in 2025 and was named the NFL Most Valuable Player. Stafford led the Los Angeles Rams with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdown passes, the most in the NFL, while throwing just eight interceptions. His strong playing helped the Rams finish with a 12-5 record and become one of the league’s most exciting teams.

Great Receivers and Smart Coaching

Stafford had two amazing receivers helping him all year. Puka Nacua led the team with 1,715 receiving yards and was one of the best wide receivers in football. Davante Adams, a future Hall of Famer, also caught many touchdowns for the Rams. Their catching skills gave Stafford big plays throughout the season.

Behind the scenes, the Rams were coached by Sean McVay, a Super Bowl–winning head coach known for his creative play-calling and leadership. McVay’s experience helped the Rams’ offense score lots of points and stay competitive every week.

Heartbreaking Finish in NFC Championship

The Rams’ season ended in a thrilling NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams played great, but Seattle made just enough big plays to win. Stafford threw for 374 yards and three touchdowns in that game, but the Rams fell short and missed the chance to go to the Super Bowl.

Even though the Rams didn’t make the Super Bowl, Stafford’s MVP season will be remembered as one of the best of his long career.
