Braves vs White Sox Recap: Olson's 2 HRs not enough in 6-5 loss

Olson Explodes Early, Braves Jump Out Front
You've got to see what happens right from the start. The Braves roll into Chicago ready to bounce back after losing the night before. Matt Olson steps up in the first inning and crushes a fastball from Brandon Eisertāthe ball rockets 411 feet over right center field. Michael Harris II scores too. Atlanta leads 2-0 before the White Sox even get a turn at bat. But that's not enough for Olson. In the third inning, he faces Erick Fedde and does it again. Another home run, this time 402 feet to left center. The Braves are rolling now. Olson has four RBIs already. Then Dominic Smith reaches on an error, and Ozzie Albies scores. Chicago trails 4-0. The Braves' bats are on fire.
White Sox Battle Back, Game Gets Tight
The White Sox don't quit. In the third inning, Miguel Vargas crushes a fastball from Grant Holmes. His home run sails 377 feet to left field, and Sam Antonacci scores behind him. The White Sox cut the lead to 4-2. Then in the fourth inning, Braden Montgomeryāa young rookie making his debutāsingles to left field. Jacob Gonzalez comes home. It's 4-3 now. Fast forward to the seventh inning. Carlos Carrasco takes the mound for Atlanta, and Jacob Gonzalez rips a single to right field. Miguel Vargas scores. The game is tied 4-4. These two teams are swinging hard. Nobody's backing down.
Montgomery's Walk-Off Magic Wins It for Chicago
The game goes into extra innings. In the tenth inning, things change fast. The Braves' Mauricio Dubon singles to right field, and Ozzie Albies slides home. Atlanta takes a 5-4 lead. But wait. The White Sox get their turn. Raisel Iglesias throws a changeup to Braden Montgomery. The rookie connects. The ball flies 343 feet to left field. It's gone. Montgomery rounds the bases. Andrew Benintendi scores too. Chicago wins 6-5 in the tenth inning. The home crowd erupts. The Braves fall to 45-23. The White Sox improve to 35-32. It's a heartbreaker for Atlanta, but Montgomery's heroics give Chicago the victory.
