Game overview and setting

Late game drama and finish
The eighth inning changed the game when Cleveland scored three runs to lead 5–2. Valera doubled and scored Ramírez, and Manzardo moved to third. Then Martínez doubled home two runs to make it 5–2, a big multi-run inning that looked decisive. St. Louis battled back; Wetherholt hit a two-run homer in the eighth to cut the lead to 5–4. In the ninth, Pozo doubled home Winn to tie the game 5–5. In the 10th, Church hit a sacrifice fly that scored Saggese and won it 6–5 for St. Louis. The Cardinals improved their record to 8–8.
