Rangers Strike Fast, Cleveland Falls Behind
The Guardians came to Globe Life Field looking to bounce back. They had crushed the Rangers 6-0 just the day before. But this Sunday was totally different. In the very first inning, disaster struck. Justin Foscue smashed a fastball 417 feet over the left field wall, bringing Josh Jung with him. Two runs scored on one swing. The Rangers were up 2-0 before the Guardians even stepped up to bat. Joey Cantillo took the mound for Cleveland, but he couldn't find his rhythm early. The damage was already done. Texas had momentum, and you could feel it building. By the time the first inning ended, the Rangers were in control. Cleveland needed to answer back fast, but it wasn't going to happen.
Rangers Keep Pounding, Cantillo Struggles
Things got worse fast for Cleveland in the third inning. Josh Jung stepped in and crushed a fastball 382 feet to right field. Home run number two for Texas. The Rangers weren't done either. Ezequiel Duran laced a changeup to left field for a double, scoring two more runners. Jake Burger then slapped an infield single, and another run crossed the plate. By the end of that one inning, the Rangers had six runs. Then in the fourth, Wyatt Langford went deep with a 381-foot blast to left. Texas was absolutely rolling. Cantillo couldn't escape the damage. He'd given up seven runs through four innings. Cleveland's offense was silent. The Rangers had built a commanding lead that felt unbeatable already.
Texas Cruises to Dominant 10-0 Victory
The Rangers kept scoring in the sixth inning when Michael Helman smacked a curve ball 378 feet over the left field wall for his home run. Texas was already so far ahead that the game felt over. In the eighth inning, Evan Carter singled to right, driving in another run. Duran followed with another single to right, and one more scored. The final score was 10-0. The Rangers had utterly shut out the Guardians on this Sunday. Jacob deGrom pitched six strong innings for Texas, allowing just three hits and zero runs while striking out six. Cleveland's bats were completely silenced. The Rangers improved to 33-33 with this dominant win. The Guardians fell to 37-31. This game showed that the Rangers could be dangerous when everything clicked together.
