Reds Take Early Control with Powerful Bats
Cincinnati welcomed Colorado to town on Tuesday night, and the Reds jumped ahead right from the start. In the very first inning, things got exciting fast. De La Cruz reached base on an infield single, and Myers scored to make it 1-0 Reds. Then Steer smashed a home run deep to left-center field, launching the ball 411 feet into the Cincinnati air. The blast with an exit velocity of 102 mph brought De La Cruz around to score as well. After just one inning, the Reds had already built a 3-0 lead. Kyle Freeland took the mound for Colorado, facing a tough early challenge. The Rockies' pitching staff had proven resilient in recent games, but this quick deficit put immediate pressure on Colorado to respond.
Colorado Fights Back, But Reds Stay Strong
The Rockies refused to quit despite the early deficit. In the third inning, Julien smashed a home run to center field that traveled 403 feet, putting Colorado on the board at 1-0. However, Cincinnati answered right back when De La Cruz singled to center and Myers scored again, extending the Reds' lead to 4-1. The Rockies kept grinding, though. In the fifth inning, Julien singled to center and McCarthy scored, cutting Cincinnati's advantage to 4-2. Throughout the middle innings, both teams showed they could hit the ball hard. Julien's second hit had an exit velocity of 98 mph, demonstrating Colorado's power potential. Despite their offensive moments, the Rockies couldn't build momentum like Cincinnati did. The Reds' pitching held firm through the middle frames while their lineup stayed dangerous.
Reds Dominate Late Innings to Seal Victory
The game stayed competitive until Cincinnati's offense exploded in the eighth inning. De La Cruz launched a towering home run to left-center field that soared 376 feet with an exit velocity of 106 mph. The blast brought Myers around to score, pushing Cincinnati's lead to 6-2. On the very next at-bat, Lowe singled to right, and Stewart scored to extend the Reds' advantage to 7-2. Cincinnati's young stars showed why they were exciting to watch, combining power with consistent hitting. In the ninth inning, the Reds added their final three runs, completely taking control of the game. Colorado managed eleven hits throughout the night, showing they competed hard, but Cincinnati's bullpen and offense proved too strong. The final score read 11-2 in favor of the Reds, improving Cincinnati's record to 19-10 while Colorado dropped to 13-17. Sometimes, youth and power simply overwhelm effort.
