Angels Strike First, But Mariners Come Ready
The Angels rolled into T-Mobile Park for a big matchup against the Mariners on Tuesday night. Los Angeles came in 36-50, looking to bounce back after losing the night before. Seattle sat at 43-43, hungry to keep winning. Right away, the Angels got moving in the first inning. Denzer Guzman ripped a single to right field, and Zach Neto raced home from second base. One-nothing Angels. But the Mariners weren't about to fall behind. Cole Young stepped up in the third inning and launched a monster home run to center field. The ball flew 412 feet into the night sky. Seattle tied it up 1-1 quick.
Raleigh and Canzone Spark Seattle's Big Sixth
Zach Neto answered back with his own blast. The young shortstop crushed a home run to left center, 396 feet out. Angeles back on top 2-1. But the Mariners' bats stayed hot. In the fourth inning, Cal Raleigh singled sharply to left. Randy Arozarena and Josh Naylor both came racing home. Seattle led 3-2. Then came the sixth inning, and the Mariners put the game away. Dominic Canzone rocked a home run to right center, 428 feet. Young stepped up again and blasted another one to right field, 406 feet, with Naylor scoring. Seattle extended their lead to 6-2. George Kirby pitched beautifully for the Mariners, keeping the Angels quiet.
Kirby Dominates as Seattle Cruises to Victory
George Kirby was nearly perfect on the mound for Seattle. The right-hander went eight innings, giving up only seven hits and two runs. He struck out seven Angels batters and walked just one. That's the kind of pitching that wins games in June. The Angels couldn't find their rhythm against him. Neto had a great night, going 2-for-3 with two runs and his home run. But one hero night isn't enough when your team trails 6-2 late. The Mariners' bats did all the heavy lifting. Cole Young finished 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs. He was everywhere, putting on a show. Final score: Mariners 6, Angels 2. Seattle improved to 44-43 after the win.
