Dodgers Strike First: Ohtani and Muncy Launch Bombs
The Dodgers rolled into Chicago after losing 2-8 the night before. They came hungry. Sean Burke took the mound for the White Sox, and he had no answers right away. Shohei Ohtani stepped up in the first inning and crushed a 94-mph fastball 409 feet into right field. The ball sailed over the wall like it had rockets on it. One pitch later, Max Muncy launched a monster shot 415 feet to right-center. The Dodgers went up 3-0 before the White Sox recorded an out. Mookie Betts scored on Muncy's blast. Los Angeles was in total control. The Chicago crowd went silent. This game belonged to the Dodgers from the jump.
Muncy's Hot Bat Extends the Lead in the Middle Innings
The Dodgers kept pounding the ball in the third inning. Kyle Tucker singled to right, scoring Betts and moving Muncy to third. Then the damage really piled up in the sixth. Tucker walked with the bases loaded, and Ohtani scored to make it 5-0. Max Muncy was on fire. In the eighth inning, Muncy stepped up again and belted a 409-foot home run to center field. Betts scored again on that blast. Muncy finished with three home runs and four RBIs. The Dodgers were unstoppable. Their lineup had no mercy. Chicago's pitchers just could not find their rhythm against this powerhouse offense.
Dodgers Cruise to Victory with Dodger Pitching Dominance
Yoshinobu Yamamoto was a wall on the mound for Los Angeles. He pitched 8 and one-third innings, giving up just one hit and one run. The legendary Japanese pitcher struck out seven batters and walked zero. That is pure dominance. The Dodgers' pitching staff showed why they are the best in baseball. In the ninth inning, Tristan Peters hit a solo home run to make it 7-1. That was the only run the White Sox could muster all game. Yamamoto recorded the win, improving the Dodgers to 44-26. Los Angeles beat Chicago convincingly. The Dodgers' road trip started rough but this victory was a statement. Their lineup and pitching form a nearly perfect team. The White Sox fell to 37-31 despite winning their last three games before this loss.
