Dodgers Dominate at Coors Field
The Los Angeles Dodgers traveled to Colorado on Saturday to face the Rockies at Coors Field. The Dodgers' pitching staff, led by starter Tyler Glasnow, looked unstoppable throughout the game. Los Angeles came in hot after beating the Mets 8–2 in their previous matchup, and they kept that momentum rolling. Colorado's pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano faced a tough challenge against one of baseball's most talented lineups. By game's end, the Dodgers cruised to a 7–1 victory, showing exactly why their pitching depth makes them so dangerous. This win improved Los Angeles to 15–5 on the season. The Rockies, meanwhile, fell to 8–13 despite grabbing their first victory yesterday against the Astros.
Early Firepower Puts Dodgers in Control
Los Angeles struck first in the opening inning when Smith lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, sending Ohtani across home plate. The ball soared 379 feet in the air off a 92 mph sinker, and the crowd watched as the Dodgers grabbed a quick 1–0 lead. Then in the second inning, Muncy absolutely crushed a fastball over the center-field wall for a solo home run that traveled 452 feet. His powerful swing generated an exit velocity of 108 mph, one of the hardest-hit balls of the afternoon. By the end of the second inning, Los Angeles led 2–0. The Dodgers' bats were heating up fast, and Rockies pitching struggled to find answers against the visitors' relentless attack.
Dodgers Build Big Lead with More Runs
The third inning became the turning point when Muncy doubled to right field, scoring Smith while Freeman advanced to third base. Then Pages stepped up and hit another sacrifice fly to center, bringing Freeman home. Los Angeles now led 4–0 with their pitching staff throwing with confidence. In the fourth inning, Smith singled to left, plating Tucker and extending the advantage to 5–0. Colorado finally answered in the bottom of the fourth when Johnston grounded out to third, though Moniak managed to score. The Rockies' only run of the day came from that groundout. Back in the fifth inning, Muncy launched his second home run, a 419-foot blast to right field that made it 6–1. Pages scored on a sacrifice fly moments later, pushing the final margin to 7–1.
