Braves Dominate in Atlanta Behind Early Power
The Atlanta Braves hosted the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night at home, looking to build on their impressive 6-5 victory from the previous day. Miami came into the game hoping their pitching staff, led by starter Chris Paddack, could spark a resurgence after losing the previous matchup. However, the Braves' bats came alive early and often against Miami's rotation. In the second inning, Ozzie Albies launched a towering home run to right-center field that soared 370 feet off an 87 mph cutter. The ball left his bat at 100 mph with a 38-degree launch angle, immediately giving Atlanta the lead. Moments later, Manny Dubón added another run with a single to left field, scoring a runner. The Braves' strong start set the tone for what would become a dominant performance.
Braves Extend Lead with Seventh Inning Power Surge
Atlanta's offense continued to pressure Miami throughout the game, but the seventh inning proved absolutely devastating for the Marlins' pitching. Austin Riley launched a tremendous home run to left-center field in the sixth inning, traveling 400 feet with an exit velocity of 109 mph. The Braves' momentum kept building. In the seventh inning, Mitch Baldwin singled to right, scoring Ronald Acuña Jr. from second base. Then Matt Olson delivered the knockout punch with a massive 423-foot home run to right field. His exit velocity reached 107 mph as the ball soared over the wall, also scoring Baldwin. These two consecutive seventh-inning blows effectively sealed Atlanta's victory and demonstrated their offensive firepower.
Marlins Score Late but Fall Short Against Braves
Although Miami's offense remained quiet through most of the game, the Marlins refused to quit during the eighth inning. With two runners on base, Aaron Hicks stepped up and connected with a slider from the Atlanta pitcher, sending a 358-foot home run to right field. The ball left his bat at 100 mph with a launch angle of 25 degrees. Hicks' blast scored one other runner, cutting Miami's deficit to 6-2. Moments later, Juan Hernández reached base on a fielder's choice that allowed another run to score. Despite these late-inning efforts and solid hitting throughout the matchup, the Marlins simply couldn't overcome Atlanta's powerful seventh-inning explosion. The final score read 6-3, giving the Braves their second consecutive victory.
