Brewers Strike First with Early Power
The Brewers came to Coors Field hungry for a second straight win. Saturday's game had been a thriller, ending 9-7 in Milwaukee's favor after ten innings. Now they wanted to keep rolling. Colorado needed a spark—they'd lost four games in a row and sat 24-42 on the season. Right from the start, Milwaukee showed why they're one of the best teams in baseball. Brice Turang stepped up in the first inning and launched a monster shot. His home run traveled 444 feet and landed in center field with a thunderous crack. The ball rocketed off his bat like a missile. Milwaukee led 1-0. One inning later, David Hamilton followed up with his own blast. This one soared 426 feet to center field. Hamilton made it look easy, and now the Brewers were up 2-0. Colorado's pitcher Zach Agnos was struggling early, and Milwaukee was making him pay with power.
Contreras Crushes, Errors Help Milwaukee Extend Lead
Colorado got on the board in the fifth inning. Kyle Karros doubled to right field with two outs, scoring Edouard Julien. The Rockies were down 2-1, but they couldn't keep the momentum. Milwaukee's bats kept crushing. In the seventh inning, William Contreras stepped up and delivered a massive blow. His home run sailed 434 feet to left-center field. Contreras connected on an 86-mile-per-hour cutter and sent it flying. The ball disappeared into the stands, and the Brewers led 3-1. Then things got even worse for Colorado. A fielding error by first baseman TJ Rumfield let two more runners score. Jake Bauers and Blake Perkins raced home on the miscue. Sal Frelick reached first base safely on the error. Milwaukee stretched their lead to 5-1. Jacob Misiorowski was pitching a strong game for the Brewers, allowing just four hits through seven innings.
Turang and Bauers Go Yard Again in Eighth
The Brewers weren't done yet. In the eighth inning, Brice Turang came up again and hit his second home run of the day. This blast went 367 feet to left field. The crowd at Coors Field had to watch helplessly as another Brewers ball cleared the wall. Milwaukee now led 6-1. The very next batter was Jake Bauers, and he smashed another home run. His shot traveled 378 feet to left field. Two straight homers in one inning put the game completely out of reach for Colorado. The Brewers' lineup was unstoppable. Jacob Misiorowski pitched a complete game basically, going seven strong innings with eight strikeouts. He allowed just four hits and one run. Grant Anderson and Drew Rom shut the door in the final innings. Milwaukee won 7-1 to improve to 39-23. Colorado fell to 24-42, losing their fifth straight game and remaining stuck in the basement of the division.
