Twin Bats Wake Up in the Bronx
The Twins rolled into Yankee Stadium looking to bounce back. They had lost to the Yankees 5-2 the night before and came in hungry for a win. This game told a completely different story. Minnesota's hitters came alive like someone flipped a switch. In the very first inning, Byron Buxton ripped a double into center field. Then Kody Clemens crushed a two-run homer to right-center. The ball sailed 393 feet and the scoreboard lit up: Twins 3, Yankees 0. Just like that, the Twins had taken control. New York's pitcher Brendan Beck was in trouble already. Luke Keaschall added another solo shot in the second inning. Alex Jackson followed with a massive blast to left-center, 410 feet of pure power. The Yankees were being buried early.
Yankees Find Some Life but It's Too Late
The Yankees finally got on the board in the fourth inning. Jasson Dominguez crushed a solo homer to right-center. The crowd in the Bronx had something to cheer about at last. But Minnesota kept punching back. Trevor Larnach hammered a solo shot to right in the fourth. The score climbed to 6-1 for the Twins. In the fifth inning, New York tried harder. Max Schuemann blasted a two-run homer to left-center. Cody Bellinger doubled to right. The Yankees scratched out three more runs to make it 6-4. For a moment, it felt like New York might chip away. But the Twins were too far ahead. Minnesota's lead was solid and New York couldn't catch up no matter how hard they fought.
Twins Blow It Open Late with a Barrage
The game reached the seventh inning with Minnesota still leading 6-4. Josh Bell stepped up and launched a solo homer to left field. The Twins stretched it to 7-4. But the eighth inning? That's when things got wild. Byron Buxton hit a sacrifice fly to left. Kody Clemens singled to right. Then Josh Bell came up again and absolutely crushed another homer to right-center, 376 feet of devastation. Two runs scored on that blast. The scoreboard showed 11-4, Twins. The Yankees were finished. New York managed nothing else. Minnesota walked away with an 11-4 victory. The Twins improved to 43-47 on the season. The Yankees fell to 49-39 despite the loss. This game belonged to Minnesota's incredible bats from start to finish.
