Giants Explode Early After Tough Loss
The Giants came to Colorado on Sunday looking for payback. They'd lost the night before 6-8 in heartbreaking fashion, so they were hungry for a win. The Rockies started pitcher Tanner Gordon right away, and the Giants wouldn't waste time making him pay. Jung Hoo Lee ripped a single up the middle in the first inning, scoring Rafael Devers. One batter later, Daniel Susac crushed a double to right field, and Bryce Eldridge scored easily. The Giants were rolling early at 2-0. The Rockies got one back in the bottom of the second when Braxton Fulford hit a foul ball that brought Kyle Karros home. San Francisco was ahead 2-1 after just two innings, and the bats were warm.
Adames Goes Deep, Giants Explode in Fifth
The game stayed tight until the fifth inning. That's when the Giants unleashed the real fireworks. Zach Agnos came in to pitch and nothing went right for Colorado. Matt Chapman doubled down the line. Drew Gilbert smashed a triple to center that made you hold your breath. Casey Schmitt singled home Gilbert. Then Willy Adames stepped up with runners on. He launched a massive three-run homer to left field that just cleared the wall at 380 feet. The ball disappeared into the stands and the Giants were up 11-3. That one swing changed everything. The Rockies scored a couple in their half, but the damage was done. One island of hope in the bottom for Colorado faded fast as San Francisco's lineup kept attacking.
Late-Inning Barrage Seals Historic Victory
By the sixth inning, Bryce Eldridge blasted a bomb deep to center field that traveled 453 feet. The ball was gone. The seventh inning brought more. Luis Arraez singled and Jung Hoo Lee followed with another single to center. The Giants kept piling on in the eighth when Colorado's pitchers fell apart. Rafael Devers laced a single that scored two on errors by Colorado fielders. Luis Arraez then lifted a sacrifice fly to center. The ninth inning brought the final dagger when Jesus Rodriguez connected for a solo home run to left. The Giants cruised to a 19-6 victory. San Francisco improved to 24-36 while Colorado dropped to 22-39. This dominant win showed what the Giants could do when their whole lineup came alive.
