The game completely changed in the middle innings. Kansas City woke up at the plate with some serious power. In the fifth inning, Jac Caglianone stepped in against Nathan Eovaldi. The young Royals slugger connected on a curve ball and sent it soaring to right center field. The ball traveled 421 feet before disappearing over the wall. It was 2-1, Rangers. Then the sixth inning happened. Maikel Garcia tripled to right, scoring Carter Jensen. Vinnie Pasquantino followed with a ground rule double that brought Garcia home. The lead was now 3-2, Royals. But Kansas City wasn't done yet. Caglianone came back up again and crushed another pitch. This one went 431 feet to right center. Two runs scored. The Royals had completely turned this game around. Texas found themselves trailing 5-2.
Rangers Mount Late Charge but Come Up Short

Texas was back in it at 5-3. The Rangers' bats kept fighting through the late innings. Nathan Eovaldi had given them 5.2 innings of work before the bullpen took over. Kansas City's relief arms tightened up and held strong. The Royals' closer Alex Lange came in for the save opportunity. He shut the door completely in the ninth inning. The final score was Kansas City 5, Texas 3. The Royals improved to 28-39 on the season. Texas fell to 32-34. Kansas City had won three straight games now. They were starting to find their rhythm.
