Rangers Strike First, Then Kansas City Answers Back
The Texas Rangers came into Kauffman Stadium ready to bounce back. They'd lost the night before, 5-3. Now they wanted revenge. MacKenzie Gore took the mound for Texas and looked sharp early. Kansas City's Isaac Collins got a hit in the second inning that scored Jac Caglianone. The score was 0-1 Royals. But Texas wasn't done. In the fourth inning, Evan Carter drew a walk that brought Brandon Nimmo home. Then Nicky Lopez singled to right, and Wyatt Langford raced across the plate. Texas led 2-1. The Rangers' bats were alive. Gore kept pitching strong, striking out batters left and right. Kansas City needed to answer back fast, or this game would slip away.
Burgers Fly, Royals Keep It Close
The seventh inning changed everything. Jake Burger stepped up to the plate and crushed a fastball over the left-center wall. The ball rocketed 399 feet into the night sky. Tied 3-3. Kansas City answered right back in the bottom of the seventh. Nick Loftin ripped a triple into center field, and Jac Caglianone scored. Royals led 4-3. The game was a seesaw battle now. In the eighth inning, Burger came through again. This time he lifted a sacrifice fly to center. Evan Carter tagged up and scored from third base. Texas regained the lead 4-4. Both teams were fighting hard. This wasn't over. The Rangers and Royals kept trading punches back and forth across four innings of tension and drama.
Rangers Push Ahead Late, Hold On for Victory
The game stayed tied into extra innings. In the tenth inning, the Rangers seized their moment. Elias Diaz doubled to center, and Ezequiel Duran sprinted home. Texas led 5-4. Then Josh Jung drew a walk that scored Diaz from second base. Rangers now led 6-4. Kansas City's bats went quiet after that. The Royals couldn't string together the hits they needed to tie it up again. Time ran out. Texas won 6-4 and improved to 33-34. Kansas City fell to 28-40. The Rangers got the revenge they wanted, turning around a tough loss into a solid road win. Jake Burger and Evan Carter led the way with their bats and their hustle all night long. Texas is starting to click.
