Game overview and final score
The Rangers visited the Dodgers on Saturday, April 11 in Los Angeles. The Dodgers won a close game, 8–7, at home. Texas came in with veteran pitchers like Jacob deGrom expected to lead the staff, and Kumar Rocker started for the Rangers. Tyler Glasnow took the mound for the Dodgers. The game swung back and forth and stayed exciting until the last inning. Early homers and big hits made both teams trade leads, so fans saw offense all game. The final play came in the ninth, and the Dodgers left the field with a one-run victory.
Early scoring and middle innings
The Dodgers struck first in the second inning when Muncy homered to right center on a 93 mph cutter. Los Angeles led 1–0 after that blast. In the top of the third, Seager changed the game: he hit a three-run homer to center, scoring Smith and Nimmo and giving Texas a 3–1 lead. The ball left the bat hard, and the crowd roared. Los Angeles answered with another Muncy homer in the fourth, cutting the gap to 3–2. Texas added a Langford solo shot in the fifth, making it 4–2 before the Dodgers fought back again.
Late rally, walk-off moment, and meaning
The late innings were wild and full of drama. In the sixth, Pages doubled and drove in two runs to give the Dodgers a 5–4 lead. In the eighth, Pages homered with Muncy on base to push Los Angeles ahead 7–4. Texas answered in the ninth: Carter homered with Pederson aboard to make it 7–6. After that, Duran singled to score Haggerty and tie the game at 7–7 with two outs. But with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Muncy hit another homer to right center and won it 8–7 for the Dodgers.
