The Atlantic Division is putting on a show. Two teams are rolling hot while others fight to find their rhythm. Here's what happened this week across all five teams.
Boston Leads the Way
The Celtics sit atop the division at 35-19. They crushed Chicago 124-105 on Wednesday night. Payton Pritchard fired in 26 points like a sharpshooter finding his target. Jaylen Brown added 24 points, slicing through defenders with smooth moves to the basket. Boston has now won five games in a row. Their defense clamps down on opponents like a steel trap. Even without Jayson Tatum, who remains out, the Celtics keep winning. They're the second-best team in the entire Eastern Conference.
New York on Fire
The Knicks trail Boston by just half a game at 35-20. They destroyed Philadelphia 138-89 behind Jose Alvarado's 26 points. That makes eight straight wins for New York. Alvarado zipped around the court like lightning, finding open shots and feeding teammates. The Knicks play lockdown defense that frustrates everyone they face. Before that victory, Indiana had snapped their seven-game streak in overtime, but New York bounced right back.
Toronto and Philadelphia Struggling
The Raptors fell to Detroit 113-95 on Wednesday. Cade Cunningham carved up Toronto's defense for 28 points and 9 assists. Toronto sits at 32-23, still holding onto the fifth spot in the East. They need to find consistency fast.
Philadelphia dropped two straight games this week. The 76ers got hammered by New York 138-89 without Joel Embiid on the floor. Before that, Portland knocked them off 135-118. Philadelphia stands at 30-24, trying to stay in playoff position.
Brooklyn's Rebuild Continues
The Nets lost to Indiana 115-110 despite battling hard. Jarace Walker led the comeback for Indiana with 23 points. Brooklyn is 15-38 and sits near the bottom. They're building for the future with young players gaining valuable experience every night.
The Atlantic Division race stays tight at the top as teams head toward the stretch run.
