Championship Thunder Face Tough Test in Toronto
The defending champion Thunder roll into Toronto on Tuesday night with the league's best record. But Oklahoma City will be missing some major firepower. This game looks very different than expected.
Thunder Missing Their MVP
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won't suit up for this road trip. The superstar guard has been out since early February with an abdominal strain. He won't return until at least Friday. Jalen Williams is also sidelined with a hamstring injury that will keep him out another two weeks. Ajay Mitchell remains out too. Alex Caruso might play, but he's dealing with an ankle sprain.
Picture a team built around speed and skill. Now imagine their fastest, smoothest playmakers watching from the bench. That's what Oklahoma City faces Tuesday.
Raptors Look to Strike
Toronto just secured a win over Milwaukee. Immanuel Quickley dominated with 32 points. Brandon Ingram leads the team in scoring at about 22 points per game. Quickley runs the offense with about six assists each night.
The Raptors play at home where they can use the crowd's energy. Barnes and Ingram will attack Oklahoma City's backup lineup all night long.
A Golden Opportunity
This is Toronto's chance to grab a statement win. The Thunder are still dangerous even without their stars. But the Raptors have the weapons to win this matchup on their home court.
