Timberwolves Shut Down the Nuggets in Playoff Showdown
Minnesota dominated Denver on Saturday, winning 112 to 96 and taking a commanding 3-1 series lead. The Timberwolves controlled the game from start to finish, playing stellar defense and executing their offensive sets perfectly. Denver came in hoping to get back in the series, but they faced a tough challenge without key contributions from some of their usual scorers. Ayo Dosunmu led Minnesota's historic offensive performance with 43 points, showcasing incredible efficiency from the field. His shooting touch was nearly flawless as the Timberwolves built their lead steadily throughout the contest. Even though Jamal Murray scored 30 points for Denver, it wasn't enough to overcome Minnesota's balanced attack and defensive resilience. The loss puts Denver in serious trouble heading into Game 5.
Dosunmu's Historic Night Powers Minnesota's Victory
Ayo Dosunmu absolutely took over the game for Minnesota, putting on one of the most efficient shooting performances you could ask for. His 43 points came on exceptional 76.5 percent shooting, meaning nearly every time he touched the ball, he found the basket. Supporting him were Naz Reid with 17 points and Julius Randle with 15 points, spreading the scoring around. This balanced approach made Denver's defense unable to focus on stopping any single player. The Timberwolves' depth shined through as multiple players contributed meaningful scoring. Meanwhile, Denver relied heavily on Jamal Murray's 30 points and Nikola Jokic's all-around play with 24 points and 15 rebounds. However, no one else stepped up consistently enough to help them stay competitive. Minnesota's team effort proved stronger than Denver's star power in this crucial playoff matchup.
Denver's Road Back Gets Steeper After Game 4 Loss
The Nuggets entered this playoff series as championship contenders, but Game 4 showed just how difficult their road has become. Being down 3-1 against Minnesota means Denver now faces elimination in Game 5, putting enormous pressure on their shoulders. Nikola Jokic remains one of the league's best players, but his 24 points and 15 rebounds couldn't carry the team to victory this time. Jamal Murray played aggressive basketball with 30 points, yet even his strong performance wasn't sufficient without consistent help. Aaron Gordon and Cameron Johnson failed to make significant impacts, leaving too much responsibility on Murray and Jokic's shoulders. The Timberwolves' defense limited Denver's role players, forcing their stars to do too much on offense. If Denver wants to stay alive in this series, they'll need contributions from everyone on their roster in Game 5.
