Cunningham's Heroics Crush Knicks' Winning Streak
The Detroit Pistons rolled into Madison Square Garden and stole the show. Cade Cunningham put on a masterclass performance Thursday night. He poured in 42 points to lead Detroit to a 126-111 victory. The Pistons ended New York's winning streak in front of a stunned home crowd.
Cade Takes Over
Cunningham looked unstoppable from the opening tip. The 6'8" point guard glided across the court like a superhero. He dished out 13 assists while grabbing 8 rebounds. His vision made defenders look frozen in place. Every time New York tried to close the gap, Cunningham had an answer. He shot 50 percent from the floor in 38 minutes of pure dominance.
Detroit grabbed a small 28-26 lead after the first quarter. By halftime, the Pistons had stretched it to 58-48. Cunningham controlled the pace like a conductor leading an orchestra. His passes found open teammates in perfect rhythm.
Supporting Cast Steps Up
Paul Reed played a huge role off the bench. He scored 18 points on incredible 77.8 percent shooting. Reed also blocked three shots and pulled down seven rebounds. Tobias Harris grabbed a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. He helped seal the win with smart veteran plays.
The Pistons now sit at 41-13, holding the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Their fourth straight victory proves they're true championship contenders.
Knicks Fight Back
Jalen Brunson battled hard for New York. He scored 33 points on sizzling 60 percent shooting. Karl-Anthony Towns added 21 points and hauled in 11 rebounds. But the Knicks couldn't stop Detroit's balanced attack.
The Knicks fell to 35-21 despite strong efforts from their stars. Sometimes one player gets so hot that nothing else matters. Thursday belonged to Cade Cunningham and the mighty Pistons.
