Clippers Storm Back to Defeat Warriors
The LA Clippers trailed by 14 points at halftime on Monday night. But Kawhi Leonard and his teammates weren't done fighting. They flipped the game completely in the second half, beating the Golden State Warriors 114-101.
Leonard Leads the Charge
Kawhi Leonard looked like a superhero down the stretch. He finished with 23 points on incredible shooting. Leonard hit more than 64 percent of his shots. He grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists. The superstar also swiped two steals on defense. Leonard moved like a silent warrior, cutting through defenders with smooth footwork and precise shots.
Second-Half Comeback
The Warriors jumped ahead early. They led 31-19 after the first quarter. By halftime, Golden State was up 56-42. Everything changed after the break. The Clippers scored 37 points in the third quarter while holding the Warriors to just 23. LA's defense clamped down like a steel trap. Their offense started flowing like a river.
Supporting Cast Steps Up
Kris Dunn played a huge game for the Clippers. He scored 16 points and hit 70 percent of his shots. Dunn also grabbed seven rebounds and handed out seven assists. He was everywhere on the court. Bennedict Mathurin added 17 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Miller was nearly perfect, scoring 12 points on 83 percent shooting. Darius Garland chipped in 12 points with two assists.
Warriors Fall Short
Brandin Podziemski led Golden State with 22 points. He battled hard for 37 minutes. Jeenathan Williams added 18 points off the bench. Al Horford scored 17 points with six rebounds. But the Warriors couldn't stop the Clippers' second-half surge. Star guard Stephen Curry missed the game with a knee injury.
Looking Ahead
The Clippers improved to 29-31 and sit ninth in the Western Conference. They snapped their two-game losing streak. The Warriors dropped to 31-30 and hold eighth place. Both teams continue their playoff push.
