The Lakers jumped ahead early but couldn't hold on. Phoenix clawed back to win 113-110 on Thursday night. The game stayed tight from start to finish.
Luka's Heroic Effort Falls Short
Luka Doncic played like a superhero for the Lakers. He poured in 41 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 8 assists. Luka attacked the basket like a charging bull. He knocked down shots from everywhere on the court. His 57% shooting kept the Lakers in the fight. But even his monster performance wasn't enough to steal victory in Phoenix.
LeBron James added 15 points and 6 rebounds in 35 minutes. The 40-year-old veteran battled hard but couldn't find his usual scoring rhythm. Austin Reaves chipped in 14 points while playing tough defense with 2 steals. Marcus Smart provided a spark off the bench with 13 points. Jake LaRavia stepped up with Rui Hachimura out injured, scoring 11 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.
Suns Survive Without Booker
Phoenix played without their star Devin Booker, who sat out with an injury. That opened the door for others to step up. Grayson Allen seized the moment with 28 points and 6 assists. He launched shots like rockets from beyond the three-point line. Collin Gillespie added 21 points on fantastic shooting. He moved like lightning, cutting to the basket and finishing with confidence.
The Suns also got help from Royce O'Neale, who scored 13 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. Ryan Dunn added 10 points while defending hard.
Down to the Wire
The Lakers led after the first quarter 27-22. By halftime, the score was tied at 49. After three quarters, it was still deadlocked at 80. The fourth quarter became a battle of wills. Phoenix made the plays when it mattered most, escaping with the three-point victory.
Both teams now sit in playoff position, fighting for better seeding as the season continues.
