NFL Week 3: Previewing Sunday's 1:00 PM Games
The NFL’s Week 3 slate kicks off with a packed 1:00 PM schedule, featuring several teams looking to stay undefeated and others desperate to grab their first win. From heavyweight battles to division rivalries, these games will help set the tone for the season.
Packers at Browns – Cleveland Browns Stadium
Green Bay (2-0) is off to a strong start with Jordan Love looking steady and Josh Jacobs powering the run game. Their defense has been tough too. Cleveland (0-2) is coming off a blowout loss to Baltimore, where Joe Flacco struggled and turnovers piled up. The Browns’ young roster needs a spark, but facing a balanced Packers team will be a tough challenge.
Colts at Titans – Nissan Stadium
Indianapolis (2-0) has surprised many with Daniel Jones leading the way and Jonathan Taylor running wild. They pulled off a thrilling one-point win over Denver last week. Tennessee (0-2), led by rookie quarterback Cam Ward, is still finding its footing. The Titans’ offensive line has struggled, giving up sacks, and they’ll need to protect Ward better if they want a chance.
Bengals at Vikings – U.S. Bank Stadium
Cincinnati (2-0) won a close battle with Jacksonville, but quarterback Joe Burrow’s injury is the big story. Backup Jake Browning has filled in well, leaning on Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Minnesota (1-1) is led by rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who showed resilience in a win over the Falcons but is also out with injury. This game could be a test of which young passer handles the pressure better.
Steelers at Patriots – Gillette Stadium
Pittsburgh (1-1) saw its defense give up too many rushing yards in a loss to Seattle, but Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf still make the offense dangerous. New England (1-1) just won a thriller against Miami, with young quarterback Drake Maye making clutch plays and the special teams delivering. This matchup will test whether the veteran Steelers can bounce back or if the Patriots’ youth keeps rising.
Rams at Eagles – Lincoln Financial Field
The Rams (2-0) look sharp with Matthew Stafford already in sync with Davante Adams. Their defense dominated Tennessee’s rookie QB in Week 2. Philadelphia (2-0) keeps showing why they’re the defending champs, grinding out a tough win in Kansas City. Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts lead a physical offense. This game could be one of the best of the day.
Jets at Buccaneers – Raymond James Stadium
The Jets (0-2) are struggling under new coach Aaron Glenn, as their run-first style with Justin Fields and Breece Hall hasn’t produced wins yet. Tampa Bay (2-0), however, has been clutch, with Baker Mayfield leading late drives and rookie Emeka Egbuka emerging as a new star. The Buccaneers are heavy favorites, but the Jets will try to slow the game down with their ground attack.
Raiders at Commanders – FedExField
Las Vegas (1-1) has shown flashes with Geno Smith throwing to Brock Bowers, but turnovers hurt them against the Chargers. Washington (1-1) played tough against Green Bay but lost running back Austin Ekeler to a serious injury. Jayden Daniels continues to grow, but with him likely missing this game with a knee injury, the Commanders might need to find a new balance on offense.
Falcons at Panthers – Bank of America Stadium
Atlanta (1-1) has leaned heavily on Bijan Robinson, who looks like one of the league’s best backs. Michael Penix Jr. is managing the game well but hasn’t been fully tested. Carolina (0-2) lost a close one to Arizona, but Bryce Young threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns, showing big improvement. This could be a fun matchup of two rising NFC South quarterbacks.
Texans at Jaguars – EverBank Stadium
Houston (0-2) nearly upset Tampa Bay but collapsed late. C.J. Stroud has looked solid, and Nick Chubb scored in Week 2, but the Texans need to finish games. Jacksonville (0-2) has also had tough luck despite strong play from Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne. Both teams are desperate for their first win, making this an important early-season matchup.
