NFL Week 7 Power Rankings- The Top 16
Six weeks into the NFL season, the league’s hierarchy is finally starting to take shape. Powerhouses like the Buccaneers and Colts continue to separate themselves with consistent, complete performances, while familiar giants such as the Bills, Eagles, and Chiefs are learning that even the best teams can’t coast in 2025.
16. Minnesota Vikings (3-2)
Carson Wentz continues to silence doubters after engineering a last-minute touchdown drive to beat the Browns overseas. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison are one of the most dangerous receiving duos in football, while the defense has quietly tightened up after a rough start. The Vikings’ ability to close games is finally catching up to their talent level.
15. New England Patriots (4-2)
Drake Maye’s breakout continues. The sophomore quarterback threw for over 250 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-19 road win over the Saints, showing command beyond his years. Kayshon Boutte’s two-touchdown performance gives New England a legitimate receiving threat. The Patriots’ balanced attack and opportunistic defense have turned them from underdogs to real AFC playoff contenders.
14. Kansas City Chiefs (3-3)
Patrick Mahomes delivered when his team needed him most, throwing three touchdowns and adding another on the ground in a much-needed win over Detroit. Kansas City’s defense rebounded after a shaky start, and rookie receiver Xavier Worthy continues to grow into a reliable target. At .500, the Chiefs are showing flashes of their championship form again.
13. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)
Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars couldn’t solve Seattle’s defense, but at 4-2, they’re still one of the AFC’s top teams. Lawrence threw two touchdowns under pressure, and Brian Thomas Jr. is starting to shine. The loss hurts, but Jacksonville’s young core remains playoff-ready.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1)
Aaron Rodgers’ leadership and DK Metcalf’s explosiveness have transformed Pittsburgh’s offense. Their 23-9 win over Cleveland was another example of veteran efficiency and defensive toughness. With a 4-1 record, the Steelers have the balance, depth, and confidence to make a legitimate postseason push.
11. Denver Broncos (4-2)
Bo Nix and the defense carried Denver through a gritty 13-11 win in London. Nix showed poise under pressure, while the pass rush dismantled the Jets with nine sacks. Three straight victories have the Broncos believing that they’re no longer a rebuilding project, but a legitimate AFC contender.
10. Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)
Justin Herbert looked like his Pro Bowl self again, throwing two touchdowns and leading a clutch final drive to beat the Dolphins 29-27. Rookie Ladd McConkey continues to rise as a go-to target, and running back Kimani Vidal broke out for 124 yards and a score. At 4-2, the Chargers are firmly in the AFC playoff mix.
9. Seattle Seahawks (4-2)
Sam Darnold threw for nearly 300 yards, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba torched Jacksonville for 162 yards and a touchdown. Seattle’s defense dominated the trenches, holding Trevor Lawrence in check all afternoon. The Seahawks’ balance on both sides of the ball has them soaring up the NFC standings.
8. Green Bay Packers (3-1-1)
Green Bay’s formula is clear: run the ball, protect Jordan Love, and let the defense dominate. Josh Jacobs bulldozed Cincinnati for 150 total yards and two touchdowns, while rookie receiver Matthew Golden continues to impress. The Packers are physical, balanced, and quietly climbing the NFC ladder.
7. Los Angeles Rams (4-2)
Los Angeles is winning with toughness and experience. Kyren Williams and Davante Adams powered the offense while the defense suffocated Baltimore all afternoon. Matthew Stafford is managing games smartly, and Sean McVay’s group looks playoff-ready once again.
6. Detroit Lions (4-2)
Even in defeat, Detroit looked dangerous. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns, and Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to produce at an elite level. The defense struggled late against Mahomes, but this is still one of the most complete teams in the NFC. Expect the Lions to bounce back fast.
5. San Francisco 49ers (4-2)
San Francisco’s loss to Tampa Bay showed cracks, but Christian McCaffrey remains unstoppable, totaling 111 yards and a score. Backup quarterback Mac Jones held steady, but turnovers hurt. The 49ers are too well-coached and too talented to stay down long once their key players are back from injury..
4. Indianapolis Colts (5-1)
Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor have formed one of the league’s most dynamic backfield duos. Taylor ran for 123 yards and a touchdown in a 31-27 win over Arizona, while Jones added three total scores. The defense still gives up big plays, but Indianapolis has shocked the league and continues to stay atop the AFC.
3. Buffalo Bills (4-2)
Buffalo’s offense sputtered in a 24-14 loss to Atlanta as Drake London shredded their secondary for 158 yards. Missing Dalton Kincaid clearly hurt Josh Allen’s rhythm. Even so, the Bills’ defense and experience keep them among the AFC’s best. Expect a fierce rebound next week.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (4-2)
A shocking loss to the Giants exposed cracks in Philadelphia’s armor, but there’s no reason to panic. Jalen Hurts accounted for three touchdowns, and the roster remains the most complete in the conference. If the defense cleans up its tackling issues, the Eagles will be right back on top.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1)
Baker Mayfield is playing the best football of his career, Rachaad White is thriving, and the defense is forcing turnovers again. Tampa Bay’s 30-19 win over San Francisco proved they’re not a fluke — they’re the most complete and consistent team in football. At 5-1, the Buccaneers officially sit atop the NFL.
There’s no unbeatable team, and no lead is safe. Tampa Bay’s balanced attack has them sitting atop the league, while Indianapolis has turned into a model of execution and toughness. Let's see how things shake up on Sunday!
