Devin Booker opened the game by drilling two early three-pointers, then closed his 30-point night by helping Phoenix slam the door on Orlando. The Suns had arrived at 1-5, desperate to stop a rough start, while the Magic entered 2-5 trying to find a steady attack. Phoenix found its answer in Booker’s leadership, Dillon Brooks’ hot shooting, and a defense that turned Orlando’s mistakes into a 117-104 home win.

Orlando struck first when Franz Wagner made a free throw, but Booker quickly put Phoenix ahead with a 30-foot three. The teams traded sharp punches after that. Desmond Bane hit from deep, Wagner drove for a layup, and rookie guard Jase Richardson scored to give Orlando a 14-8 lead.

Then Phoenix began to take control. Booker fed forward Bridges for a three, and Jalen Green followed with a dunk. Brooks added a jumper, while Booker’s steal set up a Bridges dunk late in the quarter. The Suns led 33-26 after one because they made Orlando work for every pass.

The second quarter showed Phoenix’s depth. Guard Kennard hit a three-point play, then scored on a layup as the Suns stretched the lead to 41-29. Orlando’s big players fought back. Wendell Carter Jr. soared for an alley-oop dunk, and Bane scored inside to cut the gap to six. But Booker returned with a layup, a short jumper, and a three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left. Phoenix took a 63-51 lead into halftime.

Orlando needed a fast third-quarter push. Instead, Phoenix’s defense brought the game’s biggest turning point. Booker and Brooks grabbed steals, and each mistake became a Suns basket. Brooks threw down two running dunks, buried a three, and later hit another long jumper. His 24 points gave Phoenix force from the wing, while Booker kept finding teammates. A 5-foot hook by center Khaman Maluach pushed the lead to 87-62, and Phoenix finished the quarter ahead 96-73.

The Magic did not quit. Carter powered inside for 27 points and 13 rebounds, and Wagner created chances all night with 15 assists. Orlando cut into the lead during the fourth as Bane hit a three and Carter scored on a dunk, a three, and another dunk. Yet each rally came after Phoenix had built too large a wall. Kennard’s three made it 105-75, and Booker answered Carter’s late surge with a 14-foot jumper for a 113-92 lead.

Phoenix’s 14 steals helped create 25 Orlando turnovers, while Booker finished with eight assists to show why he drives the Suns’ offense. The Suns move to 2-5 and next face Houston, carrying proof that their ball movement and pressure defense can change a game. Orlando falls to 2-6 before meeting Golden State, with Carter’s powerful night and Wagner’s passing offering building blocks for the next chapter.
