Rachaad White burst 33 yards down the left side with just over two minutes left, turning a tense NFC East night into Washington’s finishing move. White scored three plays later, and the Commanders beat the Eagles 27-10 at Northwest Stadium. Washington entered at 1-4-1 hoping to stop an injury-filled season from slipping away, while Philadelphia arrived at 2-5 carrying a four-game losing streak.

The Eagles grabbed the early control. After Washington kicker Drew Stevens missed from 55 yards, quarterback Tanner McKee guided Philadelphia into range for Jake Elliott’s 40-yard field goal. A bigger opening came when tight end Chig Okonkwo caught a pass and lost the ball at the Washington 26. Philadelphia safety Mukuba recovered, and McKee quickly found Saquon Barkley for 24 yards. Barkley then took a direct snap and ran in from 3 yards out, putting the Eagles ahead 10-0.

Washington did not let that mistake decide the night. Stevens drilled a 56-yard field goal late in the first quarter, then Jayden Daniels began finding ways to stretch the field. He hit Treylon Burks for 21 yards and Antonio Williams three times on a steady second-quarter march. Austin Ekeler’s 18-yard run brought Washington to the 8, where Daniels found Stefon Diggs for a touchdown. A false start erased the extra point, but the Commanders had pulled within 10-9.

Daniels stayed calm before halftime. He connected with Diggs for 20 yards, scrambled for 9 more, and set up Stevens’ 39-yard field goal. Washington took a 13-10 lead into halftime, a sharp reversal after its shaky opening.

The Commanders’ defense took over after the break. Defensive end Charles Omenihu stripped McKee on a third-quarter sack, and Omenihu recovered the loose ball. On the very next play, Daniels launched a 53-yard pass to Burks at the Philadelphia 7. Washington settled for another Stevens field goal, yet the 16-10 lead made Philadelphia’s next drive feel heavier.

The Eagles pushed deep into Washington territory early in the fourth quarter, but Elliott’s 41-yard field goal hit the left upright. That miss left Philadelphia chasing six points. Daniels then answered with a 30-yard strike to Williams and used more tough runs by White and Ekeler to set up Stevens’ fourth field goal, extending the lead to 19-10.

Philadelphia had one last chance, but a Washington cornerback intercepted McKee’s deep pass and returned it 22 yards. White’s 33-yard sprint put the game away before his 1-yard touchdown, followed by Ekeler’s successful two-point run. Daniels threw for 217 yards and a touchdown, while White’s 55 rushing yards included the game-breaking dash.

Washington improved to 2-4-1 and carries new energy into its next game against the Rams. Philadelphia fell to 2-6 and will face the Giants next, needing to turn long drives into points. For the Commanders, this was the chapter where early trouble gave way to a complete team response.
