Jahmyr Gibbs Claims Litzone Sports’ NFL Week 3 Player of the Week Honor

Jahmyr Gibbs is Litzone Sports’ NFL Week 3 Player of the Week after posting 41.4 PPR points in Detroit’s 31-24 win over the New York Jets. The Lions running back carried 20 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns, then added seven receptions for 65 yards and another score for 164 yards from scrimmage.

Gibbs delivered the decisive strike with an 11-yard touchdown reception that put Detroit ahead for good in the fourth quarter. His three-touchdown performance drove the Lions to 31 points for a third consecutive game, the first time in franchise history they have opened a season with at least 30 points in each of their first three contests.

The outburst also moved Gibbs past Billy Sims and into second place on Detroit’s all-time rushing-touchdown list with 43, trailing only Barry Sanders’ 99. Gibbs joined Sims as the only Lions players to record at least 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in each of a season’s first three games, while his six touchdowns through three games have established an emphatic early pace.
