Week 10 NFL Power Rankings: The Top 16
In the past week we've seen statement wins, surprise upsets, and key trade deadline moves that could shape the rest of the season. From rising young quarterbacks to powerhouse contenders, here’s how the league’s top half stacks up heading into the stretch run.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars (5–3)
The Jaguars escaped with a wild overtime win against the Raiders in spite of Las Vegas' star tight end Brock Bowers, who caught three touchdowns in his return from injury. They also traded for receiver Jakobi Meyers right after the game, giving Trevor Lawrence another trusted target. Even with Travis Hunter hurt, this offense has plenty of weapons to keep winning.
15. Chicago Bears (5–3)
The Bears outlasted the Bengals 47–42 in one of the most exciting games of the year. Caleb Williams threw for 280 yards and led a huge comeback in the final minute. Running back Kyle Monangai had a breakout performance, and the Bears now look like a real playoff threat if they can tighten up their defense.
14. Green Bay Packers (5–2–1)
Green Bay fell 16–13 to the Panthers in a surprising upset at home. Jordan Love and the offense struggled to finish drives, settling for field goals instead of touchdowns. They’re still a strong team, but they’ll need more balance on offense if they want to stay near the top of the NFC.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers (5–3)
The Steelers shocked the Colts 27–20 in overtime with a huge comeback win. Running back Jaylen Warren scored twice, and Aaron Rodgers made clutch throws down the stretch. Pittsburgh’s defense also came up big in key moments. This team looks ready to make a second-half playoff push.
12. Detroit Lions (5–3)
Detroit blew a late lead and fell 27–24 to the Vikings. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns, but the defense couldn’t stop J.J. McCarthy in crunch time. The Lions are still dangerous, however they’ve got to fix their fourth-quarter defense to stay in the NFC North race.
11. Kansas City Chiefs (5–4)
The Chiefs lost 28–21 to the Bills in a back-and-forth AFC showdown. Patrick Mahomes played well but threw a costly interception late in the fourth quarter. Kansas City has had a tough start to the season but they are capable of competing with anybody.
10. Los Angeles Chargers (6–3)
The Chargers won 27–20 over the Titans behind Justin Herbert’s strong performance. Herbert threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, showing his full skill set. Los Angeles stayed quiet at the trade deadline, but their offense looks sharp and playoff-ready.
9. San Francisco 49ers (6–3)
The 49ers defeated the Giants 34–24 thanks to a monster game from Christian McCaffrey, who scored twice and topped 170 total yards. Mac Jones managed the game well, and the defense created key turnovers. San Francisco hopes to get quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall back from injury soon.
8. Seattle Seahawks (6–2)
Seattle crushed Washington 38–14 with quarterback Sam Darnold throwing four touchdown passes. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a huge game, showing that this offense can score from anywhere. The Seahawks also added receiver Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline, making their passing attack even faster.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6–2)
The Buccaneers stayed hot with a strong win before heading to a bye this past week, led by their tough defense and balanced offense. Baker Mayfield keeps playing smart, mistake-free football. Tampa Bay could find themselves back in the top 5 once they get back on the field.
6. Los Angeles Rams (6–2)
The Rams dominated the Saints 34–10 behind four touchdown passes from Matthew Stafford. New receivers Davante Adams and Puka Nacua continue to shine together. Los Angeles looks like a serious contender again with their offense firing on all cylinders.
5. New England Patriots (7–2)
The Patriots held off the Falcons 24–23 in a wild finish. Drake Maye threw two touchdowns and continues to look confident in big moments. New England’s young core keeps improving, and they're firmly among the AFC’s top teams. Their success is one of the biggest surprises of the year.
4. Denver Broncos (7–2)
Denver edged out Houston 18–15 in a defensive battle. Quarterback Bo Nix made key throws late and helped set up the game-winning field goal. The Broncos have now won six straight and are proving they can win any type of game, high-scoring or low-scoring.
3. Buffalo Bills (6–2)
Buffalo took down Kansas City 28–21 in a huge AFC matchup. Josh Allen threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, showing his trademark dual-threat ability. With one of the most balanced offenses in football, the Bills look like true Super Bowl contenders once again.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (6–2)
Philadelphia beat the Vikings 28–22 last week and continues to play tough, physical football. Jalen Hurts led the way with over 300 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Eagles strengthened their defense at the trade deadline by adding pass rusher Jaelan Phillips and more depth at cornerback.
1. Indianapolis Colts (7–2)
The Colts fell 27–20 in overtime to the Steelers, marking just their second loss of the season. Quarterback Daniel Jones played well but threw three costly interceptions that kept Pittsburgh in the game. However, Indianapolis made a huge move by trading for star cornerback Sauce Gardner, hoping his lockdown defense can help them stay on top of the AFC.
The top half of the league is packed with contenders, and every game now carries playoff weight. The Bills, Eagles, and Colts all look like Super Bowl threats, while younger teams like the Jaguars and Bears are rising fast. As trade deadline additions settle in, expect even more surprises as the season hits its home stretch.
