Week 16 NFL Power Rankings #32–17
Week 15 delivered chaos. Major injuries, playoff eliminations, and a few stunning upsets reshaped the league. From Kansas City’s sudden collapse to Indianapolis scrambling at quarterback, this is where the season starts to break.
32) e — Las Vegas Raiders (2-12)
The Raiders didn’t just lose to the Eagles, they disappeared. A 31-0 shutout showed how far this team is from being competitive, especially on offense, where nothing worked and the game was basically over by halftime.
31) e — Tennessee Titans (2-12)
Tennessee hung around for stretches, but the 49ers’ 37-24 win made one thing clear: the Titans can’t keep pace when the other team starts stacking touchdowns. They’ve got young pieces, but right now they’re still a step slow on both sides of the ball.
30) e — New York Giants (2-12)
The Giants had moments against Washington, but moments don’t win games. A 29-21 loss summed up their year: a few promising drives, then a mistake that flips everything back the other way.
29) e — New York Jets (3-11)
Jacksonville turned this into a highlight reel, winning 48-20 behind Trevor Lawrence’s 5 touchdown party. The Jets couldn’t cover anyone, couldn’t get stops, and spent most of the day chasing a score that kept getting further away.
28) e — Cleveland Browns (3-11)
Cleveland walked into Chicago and got bullied. The Bears beat them 31-3 with defense, a strong run game, and easy passing lanes whenever they wanted them. Three interceptions later, the Browns were just trying to get to the final whistle.
27) e — Arizona Cardinals (3-11)
The Cardinals showed some fight through Trey McBride, but the Texans still dropped 40 on them. When you give up big plays early, including a quick strike touchdown and short-field scores, you’re basically playing uphill for three quarters.
26) e — Cincinnati Bengals (4-10)
The Bengals got shut out 24-0 by Baltimore, and it wasn’t the “unlucky” kind of shutout. They couldn’t protect the ball, couldn’t finish drives, and got smothered by a Ravens defense that played like its season depended on it.
25) e — New Orleans Saints (4-10)
New Orleans is eliminated, but their 20-17 comeback win over Carolina still mattered because it showed real growth. Tyler Shough looked poised late, and Chris Olave took over when the game tightened up, the kind of finish that gives a locker room something to build on.
24) e — Washington Commanders (4-10)
Washington finally got a win, beating the Giants 29-21, and it felt like a team exhaling. The punt return touchdown flipped the energy, and they actually closed the game instead of letting it slip away like they have all season.
23) e — Kansas City Chiefs (6-8)
Kansas City’s 2025 season ended the hard way. They lost another tight one to the Chargers, and then it got worse: Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL. The Chiefs are eliminated and will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2015, a shocking finish for a franchise that’s been the league’s standard for a decade.
22) e — Atlanta Falcons (5-9)
Atlanta is eliminated, but they still delivered one of the week’s biggest moments. The Falcons stunned Tampa Bay 29-28 on a last-second field goal, with Kyle Pitts going nuclear for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Even in a lost season, that’s a win you remember.
21) e — Miami Dolphins (6-8)
Miami’s run ended in Pittsburgh. The Dolphins lost 28-15, and while they made noise late behind Tua and Darren Waller, they dug too deep a hole early. Eliminated this week, they’ll look back at too many slow starts and not enough full-game performances.
20) e — Minnesota Vikings (6-8)
Minnesota beat Dallas 34-26, but the win came with a cruel twist: they were eliminated anyway. The good news is J.J. McCarthy looked like a real franchise quarterback again, stacking touchdowns and playing with confidence. The season’s done, but the future doesn’t look empty.
19) Dallas Cowboys (6-7-1)
Dallas fought, but Minnesota finished stronger and handed the Cowboys a 34-26 loss that squeezed their playoff chances. Field goals instead of touchdowns kept showing up at the worst times, and in December, that’s how seasons slip.
18) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-7)
This was the kind of loss that stains your month. Tampa Bay led late, then watched Atlanta steal it 29-28. When you’re trying to survive in the playoff race, giving away a game at home hurts double, once in the standings, and once in confidence.
17) Indianapolis Colts (8-6)
The Colts are still alive, but the Seahawks’ 18-16 win felt like another step toward the edge. They lost on a last-second 56-yard field goal, and their situation is even tougher: Daniel Jones is out with a torn Achilles, so Indianapolis is turning to 44-year-old Philip Rivers while trying to keep the season from falling apart.
The bottom half of the league is thinning fast. With Miami, Kansas City, and Minnesota eliminated, every remaining contender is running out of margin and Week 16 will decide who’s still standing.
