Vikings Turn Green Bay’s Fast Start Into a Purple Fourth-Quarter Storm

Green Bay Packers 22 at Minnesota Vikings 39

How the Game Went

Green Bay jumped ahead 9-0 when Trey Smack made a 59-yard field goal and Jordan Love threw an 81-yard touchdown to Christian Watson. After Kyler Murray left, Carson Wentz entered and led Minnesota back. Wentz threw touchdown passes to Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson. Green Bay led 22-10 in the third quarter, but Aaron Jones scored from 3 yards out to put Minnesota ahead 25-22. Late turnovers led to a Jordan Mason touchdown and Jefferson’s second score in a 39-22 win.

Standout Performers

Love passed for 387 yards and threw two touchdown passes to Watson, who caught scores of 81 and 2 yards. Tucker Kraft added a 30-yard catch as Green Bay gained 419 total yards. For Minnesota, Wentz sparked the comeback by connecting with Jefferson for a 39-yard touchdown and later another score. Hockenson caught a 16-yard touchdown, while Mason’s long run helped set up Jones’ 3-yard touchdown. Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel forced late fumbles, and James Pierre intercepted Love.

What It Means

Minnesota is 1-0 after turning a 22-10 deficit into a decisive 39-22 victory. The Vikings next travel to play the Bears. Their comeback showed perseverance because the team stayed focused after Murray left the game. Wentz and the offense kept scoring, while the defense forced three late turnovers. Green Bay is 0-1 and will visit the Jets. The Packers showed they can create big passing plays, but they scored only once in four red-zone trips and must protect the ball better.
