Breece Hall Powers Jets Into a Fresh Start in Tennessee

New York Jets 23 at Tennessee Titans 10

How the Game Went

The Jets began fast after Tennessee’s opening kickoff went out of bounds. Geno Smith’s 30-yard pass to Omar Cooper Jr. helped set up Kenyon Sadiq’s 3-yard touchdown. Tennessee answered with a 42-yard field goal, but New York added a 33-yard field goal before halftime. After the break, Smith connected with Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell on long passes. Breece Hall then ran 4 yards for a touchdown. The Jets later led 23–3 before Cam Ward’s late touchdown pass made the final score 23–10.

Standout Performers

Hall powered the Jets’ running game with 102 rushing yards and one touchdown. His strong runs also helped New York control the clock late in the game. Smith threw for 215 yards and did not throw an interception, giving the offense steady leadership. Wilson caught six passes for 79 yards. For Tennessee, Ward completed a late touchdown pass to Elic Ayomanor. The Jets defense sacked Ward three times and held the Titans to 195 total yards.

What It Means

The victory gave the Jets a 1–0 record and early confidence after last season’s 3–14 finish. Next, New York will meet the Green Bay Packers. Tennessee fell to 0–1 and will face the Philadelphia Eagles. Although the Titans lost, Ward and rookie Carnell Tate showed small signs of progress. The Jets proved that teamwork can change a game: the offense moved the ball, the defense stopped drives, and players protected the ball when it mattered.
