Week 5 · 2026
Parker Washington Sets Up Jacksonville’s Last-Second Roar
Philadelphia Eagles 17 at Jacksonville Jaguars 19
Washington Breaks Free
Parker Washington gave Jacksonville an early spark when he turned a short pass into a 51-yard touchdown. He found open space and raced away from Philadelphia’s defenders, putting the Jaguars ahead 7-0 in the first quarter. The Eagles also made life hard for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Jalen Carter tackled Lawrence behind the line twice, and the hits caused two fumbles, or dropped balls. Jacksonville recovered both, keeping the Eagles from taking the ball away. Philadelphia answered with steady drives. Jalen Hurts threw often to tight end Dallas Goedert, and Will Shipley ran 2 yards for a tying touchdown. Then Hurts connected with Darius Cooper for a 62-yard touchdown and a 14-7 lead. Before halftime, Jacksonville reached the Eagles’ 1-yard line, just steps from scoring. Yet Philadelphia stopped a run and two passes, leaving the Jaguars behind at the break.
Jacksonville Keeps Fighting
That goal-line stop mattered, but Lawrence kept pushing his team forward. In the third quarter, he led a drive that ended with Cam Little’s 34-yard field goal, cutting the gap to 14-10. Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell later intercepted a deep pass meant for Brian Thomas Jr. Still, Philadelphia could not turn that stop into points. Jacksonville stayed persistent in the fourth quarter. Lawrence moved the Jaguars 63 yards, while tight end Brenton Strange caught a 27-yard pass to the 1-yard line. Penalties pushed the team back, but Washington caught a pass near the goal line to extend the drive. Soon after getting the ball back, Lawrence fired a 27-yard touchdown pass to Washington with 3:20 left. Little missed the extra-point kick, but Jacksonville led 16-14.
One Last Roar
Philadelphia had only minutes to answer, and Hurts drove the Eagles close enough for Jake Elliott’s 48-yard field goal. With eight seconds left, the kick put Philadelphia ahead 17-16. It looked as if the Eagles had taken the game at the last possible moment. Washington had another answer. He returned the kickoff 53 yards into Eagles territory, giving Little a chance from 57 yards away. Little made the field goal as time ran out, and Jacksonville won 19-17. Washington finished with six catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns, while Lawrence threw for 331 yards. The win lifted the Jaguars to 4-1, showing that their biggest plays came when the game seemed lost.
